April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among a few women beach volleyball athletes to have done so. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to net her third medal with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. In addition, Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. Since she's 39 years old, it may be her final chance. She is still confident nevertheless. Ross on NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing very well, or even at all, it could be able to win gold. Also, I'll take the opportunity to try my chances. Ross was born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area together with her parents. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. In the last sport she was clearly the standout. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside volleyball player during her high-school career. To honor her achievements she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. In addition, she was awarded the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017, but Ross's beach game had been established long before that. In fact, she's won numerous events, and one was won by an iconic volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, between 2007 and 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy and Ross were strong on the world circuit, winning the 2009 World Championship as a team. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were knocked out of the gold medal by the legendary team comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC in her high school days. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross hit the beach and became a pro. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. The year 2000 was her freshman year. earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. She was also an integral player to help the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season however she was able to return as an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title each year. In 2003-2004, she was named the best female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US by the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a major in the field of international relations in USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie was not able to witness Ross's daughter reach the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. As a result, Ross is still near to her mother who passed away. Margie continues to be an inspiration on and off of the beach.
