Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars: a superstar who managed to seamlessly transition from the into mainstream pop culture, becoming an enduring pop culture icon and sweeping the globe while doing it. Swift shed the country roots she had acquired like it's a second instinct and proved that she was one of the top pop singers and songwriters in her time. Swift could make the moments personal while also conveying the mood. Songs from her early days, such as the neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament to her talents. Her second album Fearless in 2008 showcased the songwriter discovering her voice and a wider crowd. Fearless was able to have significant legs not only in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, on the foundation of Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the world. It was particularly successful in Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift managed to build upon her popularity with Speak Now almost two year years later. The singer-songwriter gained a lot of attention over the course of her three follow-up albums: Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) which she was established as the genre she was a part of. Although she slowed down her approach with 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she remained atop the world of pop, a position that she maintained through re-recordings of her older catalogs as well as Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 album.
